Lightning
forms in cumulonimbus clouds. Inside cumulonimbus clouds are ice and water these rub togather and become electrically charged. The positive and negative charges separate with the positive charges going to the top and the negative going to the bottom. They travel through the air as they are attracted to each other. A spark is created through the electric current which becomes lightning.
